The hire is for up to 5 days before the event with kayaks to be returned within 1 or 2 days after the race. The hire is up to a 5 day period including the actual race. It is possible for the kayak to be returned by 5pm on race day by crew as the compeditors bike for the coast.
All kayaks intended to be used for C2C training are $120 per day for all days with or without equipment, whether they are used or not (to cover the period of the race $600 will be required).
We do not provide transport of your kayak or gear, it is up to you to be able to pick the kayak and gear up, transport it safely and return it to us. The kayaks must be picked up and signed for by the hirer, and inspected both before and after the race by both the hirer and PaddlerZone staff. These kayaks are not cheap and are in good condition so we will require you to have cradles and non ratchet tie downs (kayak crushers) for the kayak transport. We do have them for hire for $10 per day.
The hire includes one Kayak, Helmet, PFD, other gear needed is available for sale. Please note no paddles are included as our hire paddles have been retired.
We recommend that you bring your own paddle and gear to have some equipment you are familiar with on race day, so that all you have to get acquainted with is the kayak and the river, but we can help you out with whatever we have. Accessories should be booked in advance if you need something in particular.
You will need a vehicle with roof racks and a kayak cradle. We have some cradles for hire for an additional charge but not roof racks.
Cancellations within a month of the race will inccur a fee of the full amount of the hire cost ($600) cancellations prior will incur a $50 admin fee
