The Machete 65 puts a smile on lightweight kayakers’ faces.
As one of many half-slice kayaks we wanted to make sure, there’s something about our Machete that sticks out. And well, we’re proud to say there’s no half-slice is as uncompromising as ours. We went with an incomparable rocker profile which allows the Machete to resurface in an extremely controlled manner. At the same time the tail is more slicey enabling you to pirouette for hours.
How did we combine such opposite characteristics one might ask? Here’s the answer to that: The Machete is blessed with a broad and flat hull from nose to tail making it pinball over waves and stoppers and switch right back in to control after landing. Neat and playful on easy sections, as well as fully in control in heavy whitewater – that’s what the Machete is all about.
You like to play in the waves? The flat hull does not just provide security but also makes it the “Queen of Waves”. It slides nicely into the waves and masters Spins, Blunts, Ender or Rocksplats. Surf’s up!
Half the slice…double the fun!
The new Machete joins the modern class of half-slice kayaks. But it sticks out from the masses: no other half-slice kayak has been designed without so few compromises. We went ahead with a never seen before rocker profile which allows the Machete to resurface highly controlled. And the stern is slicier and allows pirouettes for hours.
How do these contrasts combine into such a controlled and forgiving whatewater kayak? The answer is simple: the Machete has a wide, flat bottom hull from front to back. This makes the boat skip over holes and waves and the paddler stays in control immediately after landing drops or smashing over holes and waterfalls. Elegant and playful on easy river sections, total control in difficult whitewater. Nothing else matches the Machete.
You like wave moves? The flat bottom doesn’t only provide a lot of stability on whitewater but also makes the Machete “Queen of the Wave”. The hull allows very fast acceleration; spins, blunts and “soul surfing” are as much part of the experience as enders and rocksplats.
