These are long and thin, and the design goes back to the beginning of time and kayaking. It is strong and a very light specialist paddle. The design is taken from what native north Americans would make out of draft wood.
The big advantage of the design is the resistance through the water is greatly reduced, reducing muscle fatigue but still having a reasonable blade area.
It is not the perfect paddle to learn to sea kayak with but a great one for experienced paddlers or expedition paddlers as a small sized spare paddle.
